MORE ABOUT JACQUE

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR LEADERSHIP SKILLS AND ABILITIES?

I am an effective leader through my collaboration and communication skills.  I enjoy working with groups to meet goals and discover new and more effective ways to reach these goals. Through timely, kind, and clear communication the groups or projects I lead can keep moving forward.

WHAT ARE YOUR CHARACTER STRENGTHS?

According to the VIA Survey of Character Strengths profile, my top ten character strengths are as follows: honesty, love of learning, curiosity, perspective, hope, leadership, self-regulation, humor, gratitude, and fairness (VIA Institute on Character, 2019).

HOW DO YOU APPLY YOUR GROWTH MINDSET?

As someone who enjoys learning, and is continually on a path toward self-improvement, I feel I can motivate others to do the same. By living my truth, seeking to better myself by learning new skills, growing in experiences and knowledge, others will likely be motivated and inspired to reach for their full potential. I have seen this in my professional role in a corporate setting, as well as in my role as a coach and yoga teacher. I also feel that while going through a learning process, sharing downfalls, lessons learned, and success stories can also serve to motivate others. I may also be able to lead others toward a growth mindset, by simply asking questions that might spur them into making a decision themselves about their own growth. For example, I might be able to ask a friend at work, “So, have you thought about going for that promotion? I think you’d be great!” By simply planting the seed, a thought about their own growth might begin to sprout. By working towards goals myself that are challenging but attainable, and inquiring about the growth of those around me, others will be inspired to move toward a growth mindset.

WHAT IS YOUR LEADERSHIP STYLE?

I believe that each situation is different, each individual is different, and each group is different. Therefore, the leadership style must ebb and flow to accommodate for the changing environment. Therefore, a situational leadership style is most authentic to me.

WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE ABOUT EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE?

I believe emotional intelligence is overly expected but underdeveloped in most people. Meaning, I think most people expect others to have it yet, don’t have it developed in themselves. Emotional intelligence should not be overlooked with regard to any type of personal relationship, whether business or personal.
